Sublimation printing has gotten more and more popular due to its high quality and customization options. But what exactly is sublimation printing?
We’re here to break it down for you.
Sublimation printing is a heat-based digital printing method. We send your design from our computer to our printers, and the design is printed onto the fabric using a special heat-based method.
Now, this isn’t the type of printing your office printer does: those printers spray ink onto the paper, dot by dot, essentially “dying” the top layer of the paper. It’s also not screen printing, where the ink is applied to the fabric, screen by screen, using squeegees.
In sublimation printing, the solid ink is heated into a vapor that permeates the entire fabric. This means that the design is more durable and long-lasting than other print methods. The image is more naturally woven into the individual fabric fibers, meaning it’s less likely to fade or wash out. For sublimation printing, you need to use a polyester fabric. We have many different fabric options, from more lightweight basketball jersey fabrics to sweat-wicking tee shirt fabrics to stretchy football uniform fabrics.
Sublimation printing is very unique compared to other print methods, meaning we can customize your ideas and images.
